Welcome to apply to our Chefs in Residence Program in Balestrand, Norway.

We welcome chefs, sommeliers/pommeliers (cider sommeliers) or chocolatiers to come to Balestrand for a short stay (7 days up to one month).
The Cider House (Ciderhuset) is situated in an organic fruit orchard in Balestrand, by the Sognefjord in Western Norway. We produce fruit beverages under the brand Balholm. See  www.balholm.no - juices, ciders, fruit wines and liquors.
The Cider House has a restaurant, a shop and offers activities like cider tasting and cooking classes during the summer season. The rest of the year we offer meals and events by request,

What we expect from you

We are happy to see that you are interested in coming to Balestrand with your skills and your curiosity. Maybe you're interested in putting up a temporary pop-up-food-event, trying out a fine-dining concept, or working with the local school? All creative ideas are welcomed.

What you can expect from us

You will have the chance to experience our region, elaborate with the local specialities and develop your own concepts. And we promise that the local residents of our village gladly will try your menu. We will provide free accomodation in the village center and by application support travel costs.
